On May 2, 2025, Shankar IAS Academy proudly hosted its prestigious UPSC CSE & TNPSC Group 1 Felicitation Programme for the academic year 2024 – 2025 at its main campus in Anna Nagar, Chennai.
The event honored the remarkable achievements of our students who successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination and TNPSC Group 1 exams.
Our academy proudly celebrated the success of its students, with 238 selections in UPSC 2024, including top ranks like AIR 8 secured by Raj Krishna Jha.
In the TNPSC Group 1 – 2024 results, 47 out of 90 selected candidates were from Shankar IAS Academy, underscoring its commitment to excellence in civil services coaching.
The event commenced with the traditional Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a captivating Bharatanatyam performance.
An inspiring audio-visual presentation showcased the journey and milestones of Shankar IAS Academy.
The dignitaries then participated in the lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the enlightenment of knowledge.

Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized the global admiration and credibility Indian civil servants command across multilateral platforms. She remarked that the Indian bureaucracy is recognized for its intellectual rigor, adaptability, and executional efficiency.
She urged the young officers to evolve as policy innovators by leveraging technology in governance. Stressing the need for specialized knowledge, she encouraged aspirants to go beyond generalist roles and master specific domains to create lasting impact in public service.

Dr. Balagurusamy inspired the audience with his structured “10 Cs” framework – a guiding philosophy for civil servants. He elaborated on four core values:

Former Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations
Ambassador Tirumurti drew from his extensive experience in diplomacy to stress the unwavering importance of integrity in public life. “Integrity is not optional—it is the foundation upon which the dignity of the civil services rests,” he said.
He advised aspirants to cultivate clarity of thought, resilience under pressure, and the moral courage to take a stand when it matters most. A civil servant, he reminded, represents the soul of the nation in both domestic administration and global forums.

Former Judge, Madras High Court, Former Member of Law Commission of Tamil Nadu
Justice Vimala delivered an impassioned address that resonated deeply with the aspirants. She stated that every rank and every success story is born out of immense hardship, sacrifice, and unshakable determination. She urged young officers to lead not with power, but with honesty, humility, and responsibility.
“True leadership,” she said, “lies in listening to the voiceless, in being accountable, and in choosing the harder right over the easier wrong.” Her words were a heartfelt reminder of the sacred trust placed upon public servants.
